Is fire performance safe for beginners?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority at The Fire School. All our instructors are certified professionals with decades of experience. We start with comprehensive safety training, proper equipment usage, and controlled environments. Every technique is taught progressively, ensuring you master safety fundamentals before advancing. We maintain strict safety protocols and have an excellent safety record with thousands of students trained over 25 years.

Do I need any prior experience or special skills?

No prior experience is required! Our Beginners course is specifically designed for complete newcomers to fire arts. We welcome students of all backgrounds, ages (18+), and skill levels. Our teaching approach emphasizes natural flow and finding your personal rhythm, so whether you're naturally coordinated or feel you have "two left feet," we'll help you discover your unique fire arts expression at your own pace.

What should I wear and bring to classes?

Wear natural fiber clothing (cotton or wool /denim) - no synthetic materials like polyester or nylon.  Tie back long hair securely. We provide all fire equipment, safety gear, and fuel. Just bring yourself, a water bottle, and an open mind! We'll provide a detailed equipment list when you book your class.

Our Expert-level Special Effects course is for experienced performers ready for professional techniques. We also offer monthly Supervised Jam sessions for ongoing practice and community connection at all levels.

Can I perform professionally after taking your courses?

Many of our graduates go on to successful professional careers! Our comprehensive training covers not just techniques but also offers opportunity for Act development stage presence, performance skills, and industry connections. Advanced students learn fire spectacle special effects . We provide ongoing support through our community network and can help connect you with performance opportunities. However, professional readiness depends on your dedication, practice, and completion of appropriate advanced coursework. We recommend 1:1s and the away retreat for anyone serious about making it to the stage
